Nation’s best distance runners and sprinters take part in a fun-filled, action-packed event
SEATTLE, Wash. - After a record-breaking event in 2022, Brooks is excited to announce the 2023 Brooks PR Invitational is set for Wednesday, June 14 in Seattle, Washington.
The annual all-star event will once again showcase the nation’s top high school and middle school track athletes in distance and sprint events in a PR-focused environment, while providing athletes a remarkable in-person experience centered around Brooks HQ and downtown Seattle.
At the tenth edition of the Brooks PR Invitational in 2022, five meet records went down, led by Dalia Frias edging Irene Riggs 9:50.70-9:50.72, breaking the girls two mile national record. Simeon Birnbaum smashed the sub-4 mile barrier with a 3:59.51 effort, leading five runners under 4:02, making it the deepest boys prep mile contest in history.
Similarly, Juliette Whittaker beat Sadie Engelhardt 4:36.23-4:36.50 in the girls mile, leading seven runners under 4:40 in the deepest girls prep mile race in history. Christine Mallard and Will Sumner won the girls and boys 400m races in meet record times of US#1 52.12 and 45.90.
“We have 10 years of history behind the Brooks PR Invitational, coming off the most successful year in meet history,” says Jordan Hamm, Brooks Sports Marketing Specialist. “This year, we’re taking the event to even greater heights, both on the track and with the full athlete experience in Seattle. We can’t wait to showcase the fastest of the fastest on June 14.”
