Kenya's Faith Kipyegon successfully defended her gold medal in the women's 1500m at the Tokyo Olympics with an Olympic record time of 3:53.11.
Kipyegon won gold in Rio 2016 and then gave birth to her first daughter in 2018. She returned to the global stage with silver at the 2019 World Championships. British Laura Muir took silver while Dutch Sifan Hassan took bronze.
